Script Supervisor: Andy Spletzer
After spending nearly a decade as the lead film critic and film editor for the Seattle alternative weekly THE STRANGER, Andy Spletzer shifted gears and entered the fabulous world of film production, quickly becoming the “go to” Script Supervisor for independent films in and around Seattle. He has worked on many features, including the critically acclaimed Sundance film POLICE BEAT and the black-and-white, Super 8 masterpiece by crazy Canadian director Guy Maddin, THE BRAND UPON THE BRAIN!, which has played at festivals around the world with live narration, a live score, and live foley artists. He also teaches a class on Script Supervision at Seattle’s Northwest Film Forum.
Always involved in film in one way or another, when he’s not working as a Script Supervisor he freelances as a film critic for Film.com and THE STRANGER, among other outlets. In 2007 he was brought on as a Programmer for the Seattle International Film Festival, but can’t promise preferential treatment for th films that he works on. He also wrote and directed the short film WIRELESS, which premiered at Seattle’s Science Fiction Short Film Festival and played at the Bumbershoot Short Film Festival, and he is in post-production on another short he directed, ALISTAIR MACLEAN: Y’DID NEFESH.
