Director of Photography: Kat Westergaard 

Kat left a career in still photography to begin the graduate film program at New York University in 2001. During her first three years in the program she wrote and directed two short films, and served as the cinematographer on twelve others. Many of these films where accepted to top festivals including Tribeca, Palm Springs and Rotterdam, where she garnered the “Nester Almendros Award for Excellence in Cinematography.” During her third year at NYU, Kat was offered a teaching fellowship in cinematography by the NYU faculty and received the “Best Cinematography” award at the Fusion Film Festival for her work on the film ERNIE.

Since graduating from NYU, Kat has continued to work in New York City as a Director of Photography on music videos, documentaries and commercials. Recently she lensed two feature films, DAY ON FIRE staring Olympia Dukakis and Martin Donavan and LIFE IS HOT IN CRACKTOWN with Kerri Washington, Laura Flynn Boyle, Mark Webber and Ileana Douglas which is scheduled for release in the winter of 2007.
