Line Producer: Laurie Hicks

Laurie Hicks has been working in the Northwest film community since graduating from Seattle Central Community College’s Film & Video program in 2002. Laurie produced and directed a 16mm short film, LOVE, INC., which screened at Bumbershoot and received a Telly Award in 2002. By 2006, Laurie was line producing the largest locally produced feature film in Seattle, CTHULHU (2006, Director: Daniel Gildark).  Upon completion, Laurie was given a Co-Producer credit for her work and dedication to the film. Laurie went on to produce SWEET CRUDE (2006, Director: Sandy Cioffi), a feature documentary shot on location in Nigeria, Africa.  SWEET CRUDE will screen at the 2007 Seattle International Film Festival. Also screening at the 2007 SIFF will be the short “Fly Film,” RAINBOW (2007, Director: Dayna Hanson), in which Laurie worked as Producer, UPM and Assistant Director. Laurie has rounded out her filmmaking experience as an editor for short documentaries for several socio-political projects: The Japanese American Citizen’s League (2006, Seattle Public Schools documentary about Japanese Internment, Director: Sandy Cioffi), The Vera Project (2005, public awareness video, Director: Tanya Hughes), and the Hate Free Zone (2005, AND JUSTICE FOR ALL, Director: Sandy Cioffi).
