Producer: Thomas Woodrow

Thomas Woodrow formed Furnace Films in 2004, a company dedicated to director-driven, collaborative filmmaking. His primary focus is the stories and filmmakers that excite him, both up-and-coming and established. This has led him to explore emerging opportunities and stories specific to regional film communities around the world (thus far, North America, Iceland, and Macedonia). He supports each filmmaker’s vision and individual approach throughout the process, offering wide-ranging experience in development, production and post.

Thomas’s last feature project, SENKI (“SHADOWS”), recently premiered at the 2007 Toronto Film Festival. Written and directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Milcho Manchevski, SENKI is a 4.6M Euro, five-country co-production with participation from Italy, Germany, Macedonia, Bulgaria and Spain. It received the largest award of 2006 from Eurimages, the pan-European gap-financing fund and has world distribution with Bavaria International. Thomas is also in development on a survival horror film and a comedic thriller featuring the discovery of unicorns in upstate New York.

In 2006, Thomas received the Producing Award from NYU’s prestigious, graduate film program for the second time in a row, where he was also the recipient of the Steven J. Ross Fellowship and the Evalee C. Schwarz Fellowship in addition to being named a Graduate Fellow in his final year. While at NYU, Thomas produced nine short films, ranging in budget from $5K to $80K.

Thomas graduated magna cum laude with honors from Yale University in 2000 with a degree in English Literature, where he was awarded the E. Francis Riggs Memorial Prize for excellence in his field.
